What's the deal?

Controlhaus serves as a community around Apache Beehive, specifically supporting 3rd-party controls. Beehive is an innovative application framework for building web-based applications and creating easy-to-use components to hide the complexity of a myriad of technologies. While the core Beehive technology is hosted at the Apache Software Foundation, a growing library of controls find their home here at Controlhaus.

Forums refactored

We've done a bit of consolidating in the controlhaus forums. While some individual controls will have their own forum, we now have a J2EE forum for discussions about using controls like JMS, JDBC, EJB to access J2EE resources and an SOA forum for discussion about using the webservice control and XFire SOAP client.

XFire SOAP Client Released

The XFire SOAP client control version 1.0-alpha-2 has been released! The control uses XMLBeans, a powerful XML/Java binding tool, and XFire, a fast SOAP framework, to make developing web service clients easy.

Features in this release:
XMLBeans SOAP client.
SOAP client generation from WSDL.
SOAP Header support. Headers described in WSDL files will be automatically added to the API of the generated client.
Asynchronous support via Beehive Events.

Hibernate Control 1.0-alpha-2 Released

The 1.0-alpha-2 version of the Hibernate control is out. The release can be download here.

The Hibernate control provides tight integration between Beehive and Hibernate allowing Hibernate to be accessed declaratively as a control. It provides features such as:
Managed sessions
Managed transactions
A JUnit TestCase to help test your Hibernate applications
